PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY


As the lead designer at Surfdome, I was responsible for overseeing the creative direction of the company's visual materials, including product photography. I worked closely with the marketing team to ensure that the photos of products used across the site were of the highest quality and accurately reflected the brand's image.

One of my key responsibilities was briefing the studio team on the specific requirements for each product photoshoot. This included everything from the type of lighting to the positioning of the product. I collaborated with the marketing team to ensure that the photoshoots were aligned with the company's overall marketing strategy and goals.

In addition to briefing the studio team, I also made frequent visits to the warehouse where the team was based. This allowed me to provide direct guidance and feedback during the photoshoots, ensuring that each shot captured the essence of the product and aligned with Surfdome's overall brand image.

Through my involvement in the product photography process, I was able to ensure that the visuals across the site were of the highest quality and accurately represented the brand. I am proud to have played a role in helping to elevate Surfdome's visual identity and establish it as a leader in the industry.

The product photos that I oversaw were used across various areas of the Surfdome site, including product pages, banners, and other promotional materials. These visuals played a key role in helping customers make informed purchasing decisions and ensuring that the brand's image was consistently represented online.

The photos that we took were not only used on site but were also utilised in our monthly email campaign called "Reasons to be stoked." Working collaboratively with the marketing and buyers team, we were able to create outfits showcasing the latest brand collections that were then featured in the email campaign. The product photography played an integral role in the success of the campaign, allowing us to effectively showcase the products and their unique features to our subscribers.

We also utilised the product pictures on our social media platforms, particularly on Instagram, where we created engaging photo carousels showcasing new products. It was exciting to see how well the visuals performed, and we received positive feedback from our followers and the brands themselves. The brands were thrilled to see how their products were presented in such an appealing way.
